“We want him and him alone!", they chanted.
"Are you sure?", he asked.
"We are most certain", they said nodding.
He looked at them intently for the last time and then he scooped up white powder from the gourd and tossed it into the fire.
Dense white smoke rose as the drumming got louder, and the incantations more intense. Through all that, he shook as if possessed.
The men were excited...they were going to get their man...and that man was going to lead them to overcome the Great Enemy and his men who lived in the Lefticle....they did not care about what they were sacrificing to get their man...then all they cared about was the power that beckoned...so they made a Faustian bargain...yes, they did...that night...
